Wood-Mizer Announces Personal Best Contest Winners For Canada
Sawmills Used In Building Projects; Customers Make Dreams Come True

Indianapolis, IN -- Wood-Mizer Products, Inc., the world’s largest portable sawmill manufacturer, hosted their 2005 Personal Best contest, a long-standing tradition of recognizing Wood-Mizer sawmill owners who cut lumber for their building project to fulfill a dream.

The contest, which occurs every two years, is open to Wood-Mizer sawmill owners interested in competing for their share of the $22,000 in prize credits which Wood-Mizer awards.

Wood-Mizer received just under 100 entries in six different categories which include: Homes and Major Structures; Homes/Cabins; Large Outbuildings, Barns, Garages; Small Outbuildings, Barns, Tool Sheds; Miscellaneous Interior Projects; and Miscellaneous Exterior Projects.

Every entry was judged on creativity, originality, complexity, quality of workmanship and overall use of the Wood-Mizer sawmill to complete the project. Grand Champions were named in each category (a list of winners is included) and First Place and Honorable Mentions were named in each category within each region: Northeast, Midwest , South, West, and Canada .

Nine of the winners were from Canada including Robert Long from Tecumseh , Ontario , who received the Grand Champion award for Category 6, Miscellaneous Exterior Projects. Mr. Long built a tree house for his grandson and commented, ““We built everything from wood cut on the Wood-Mizer mill including the ladder, door, door latch, bridge and even the swing seat.” His project will be featured in the fall issue of the company’s customer magazine, The Wood-Mizer Way.
