Wood-Mizer Museum Tracks the Tradition of Excellence
Did you know that Wood-Mizer has purchased 42,000 tons of steel to make its mills in the last 20 years? You might know, if you had a chance to pass through the Wood-Mizer Museum. It debuted the day of the anniversary celebration. Customers were able to soak up the nostalgia hanging from the walls. Dozens of important artifacts were on display. For example, you may have noticed the shovel used in the groundbreaking ceremony for the current Indianapolis facility. There was also a timeline of the companys history, with a sentimental look back at Wood-Mizers first big seller the Dupli-Carver. Visitors were able to quiz themselves with the wall display of Wood-Mizer trivia. Plus, customers donated wonderful pieces of art theyve made using the Dupli-Carver, and other wood processing equipment.
Lois McKuhen, Executive Assistant to Wood-Mizers CCEO, describes this as the highlight of her career. I have always loved large, creative projects and this one was a unique challenge: researching the history, writing the text, scanning the photos, acquiring objects for display, and tracking lists of details my favorite!
But Lois points out, this was a total team effort. All my research and creative imagining would have meant nothing without our fantastic Wood-Mizer staff! We have absolutely wonderful, multi-talented employees who just jump right in and make things happen with first-class results.
