About Wood-Mizer Canada
History
Did you ever wonder why all Wood-Mizer portable sawmill models begin with the letters “LT”? It may seem obvious to those who know the history of Wood-Mizer, but for those who don’t, “LT” are the initials for the two inventors – Don Laskowski and Dan Tekulve.
With great vision, these men invented a variety of products that they successfully manufactured and marketed paving the way for their pinnacle product – a portable sawmill. With this invention the partners made converting logs to lumber a safe, one-person job. Now the company has earned the reputation as the world’s largest manufacturer of portable band sawmills having sold more than 30,000 units worldwide.
